The great history of the tower

With a height of 324 metres (312 metres at first), it was built in two years, two months and five days. There were no fatal falls during the construction. The winds of the 1999 storm, distorted the Tower by 13 cm. It can also grow 18 cm under the heat of sunlight. Thanks to 60 tons of paint, the Tower is rejuvenated every seven years. To date, it has hosted more than 253 million visitors.

(…) On October 27 1991, I jump from the Eiffel Tower six times. Hervé Calvayrac, ski instructor and mountain guide is my long standing teammate. We rehearsed my sequencing requirements a lot (…) Despite the beauty of the proposed elevation, a big spectacular jump is not what I like (…) From the second floor, at a height of 115 metres, I carry out six acrobatic jumps (…) For the first time, I make a succeed the triple back somersault in the first fall (…). The show was a much bigger success with its international audience than I imagined!
